New superintendent named for Mount Rushmore

From the National Park Service:

Cheryl A. Schreier, superintendent at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, has been selected as the new superintendent for Mount Rushmore National Memorial. She will begin this new assignment on September 27th, succeeding Gerard Baker, who transferred to a position in the Washington Office in April.

“Cheryl’s extensive experience from her two previous superintendent assignments will serve her well at Mount Rushmore,” said Regional Director Ernie Quintana. “Her knowledge of business practices, experience in concession management, and proven ability to work with partners make her an ideal choice to lead the park.”

“I am really looking forward to working and collaborating with the park staff, park partners, local communities, the Black Hills and the state of South Dakota,” said Schreier. “It is an honor to be selected as the superintendent of Mount Rushmore and a once in lifetime opportunity to manage a site that represents our nation’s history and cultures.”
